Training & Professional Development

It is our goal to provide relevant and current workshops with the most up to date research. Our training philosophy is that all workshops should be easily accessible and understandable while providing participants with information that can be directly applied to their classroom practice.

We also believe that professional development is the cornerstone to providing the highest quality of care for children. We provide a range of professional development and training:

  • on-site workshops, choose from our workshop catalog or let us design training just for your program
  • evening and Saturday workshops at various locations
  • on-site one-on-one or small group teacher mentoring
  • professional development conference workshops

Setting the Stage: Assessment in Early Education and Care (formerly MMSR 2013)

MMSR training has been completely revised and is now called "Setting the Stage: Assessment in Early Education and Care". The new training aligns with all of the new Early Childhood Education initiatives in Maryland. This training will help you with EXCELS, MSDE accreditation, diversity awareness, lesson planning, and assessment. Contact us for more information.

This is the 5 module Maryland Model for School Readiness 2013 training, just a new name. If you took the 9 module MMSR training, it is highly recommended, but not required, that you take this training.

Training of Trainers

Have you ever taken a workshop and thought "I could present this workshop"? Do you have expertise or experience in early care and education? Do you have great ideas or teaching strategies to share? Then this workshop series is for you. To become a certified trainer in Maryland, you must take a Training of Trainers. See our registration form for details.

Professional Learning Communities

Tired of taking the same workshop topics over and over again? Looking for training that is tailored to meet your needs? A Professional Learning Community (PLC) may be just what you need. We can tailor a PLC to meet the  needs of your staff or group of childcare providers. All of our PLCs are MSDE approved. Participants receive Core of Knowledge credit for successful participation in a PLC. Learn more.

Please see our Professional Development brochure for descriptions of many of the workshops we offer. If you do not see a workshop topic that meets your needs, please contact us. We would be happy to personalize a workshop or create a new workshop to meet your specific training needs.
